Risk Assessment, Recce and Talent Release (Minor)

Proposal and Justifications

 

Product: I will be designing and publishing a website, and the topic of the website will be about music.

 

Audience: My primary audience is aimed at people who are looking for obscurer and harsher forms of music. My secondary audience is aimed at people aged 18+, due to the absurd content of some of the artist and the genres involved.

 

Brand Identity: The purpose of my website is to help people that are trying to find unique, harsher, underground artists from styles of music that the norm wouldn’t normally talk about, or perhaps never heard of.

 

Use of Video: The video will be me showing off two records from collection, talking about the record and the artists behind the record. It will appear on the last page.

 

Planning / H&S Paperwork Needed: In order to create my product, I will to complete a recce, a talent release, a location release and risk assessment. I need to complete the recce for my living room at home so it’s suitable for filming, I will need to sign the talent release to give permission to appear, the risk assessment is to identify the hazards, who can be harmed and how, and ways to prevent it; the teacher signs this document. The location release is to allow other people to use certain equipment/locations for their intended needs and purposes. Any damage dealt to any of the equipment will hold whoever is in the possession of the equipment at the giving time responsible for the damage, meaning they’ll be charged for said damages. I sign the contract along with the person borrowing the equipment and location(s).

 

Consideration of Legislation and its Impact: Music copyright can come into play, as during the video, there will be three songs being played. However, the music is only used to promote the artists, and with the artist’s/record label’s consent, I will be able to display the music, too.

 

Hardware and Software: I will be creating my website from Microsoft PowerPoint and the video will be edited on Premiere Pro. My hardware is a computer and my phone.

 

File Types: JPEGs for the images, VLC media files for videos, logo is a JPEG, too.

The layout I will be using is the 'Power Grid' layout.

The colours I will be using for my text is black (#000000), white (#faebd7), grey (#DCDCDC) and red (#ff0000).


I will be using Adobe Caslon Pro for the headings which will be size 20 and be sans-serif.

Creating Vector Graphics (Completed version)

This task was about showing the difference between a bitmap graphic and a vector graphic. Bitmap files are created entirely of pixels, where as vector files are created with paths, which make up the curves angles of the image, etc. This image is a zoomed out bitmap file, which looks clear.The Image to the right is the zoomed in version of the image to the left. You can tell this is a bitmap photo, as the image to the right is very pixelated; quality gets degraded the further you zoom into a bitmap image. The image below is a vector graphic image. Zoomed out, it looks identical to the bitmap imaghe above, but the biggest difference is the fact that when you zoom into a vector graphic image, the images doesn't become pixelated, but more cartoon-like, like a drawning of some sort.

This the second set of images I will be showing, and just like the last one, this is a bitmap version that isn't zoomed out, which would look identical to a vector image at this state. The second image below is a zoomed in bitmap file of the first image. Since it's a bitmap file, the image degrades in quality. The final image is a vector version of the second image; zoomed in, but the quality doesn't degrade per say, but becomes this painting/drawning-like image, which can't be degraded in quality. The reason everything isn't a vector image is because they need to typically get converted into a bitmap file, and it requires special tools and fast conversion, which isn't always available depending on the device. The other reson is probably due to the fact that vector images look more like a drawning/painting, which could be something be don't want in their imagery.

Document 1 - Recce

This is a style of a risk assessment document that gets filled out by the receipent that can fill in the form that confirms their location of work, date, team they're working with, etc.

  It might be used within the creative industry in the case that a performaer is injured, a member of the team gets hurt, etc.

I would use this in the case that maybe a possible admins software or device is corrupt (viruses, etc.), which could effect my website, so I'd make sure their software is able to run my website.



Document 5 - Risk Assessment

This document is used for the purpose to identify the ability of everyone that signs this; it is used to test the knowledge of the people that fill out this paper, and if they fail to meet the requirements, the letter doesn't have to be accepted by the teacher, until they see it to the standard that they want/need it to be.


It may be used in the creative industry to test the knowledge of those in photography - and be asked to know how to use a certain camera, how to take certain types of pictures, etc. Performers might have to have an understanding of the style of the perfomance and whether or not they can excute it.


I would use this style of documentation if I were to have more than one person admining my page; I would test their knowledge on whether or not they have the ability to use my website, whether they're trust worthy, etc.

Document 4 - Adult Talent Release

This kind of form is a two-way agreement from both the photographer and the performer. If the performer signs his part of the contract, he grants full permission to the photographer to take pictures of him, and the performer can't revoke this or prevent this; once it's signed, it's signed. The photographer signs to agree to this and have the ability to take images and altar them.


In any circumstance that the performer isn't comfortable with having photos of him/her being taken, they don't have to sign the contract, meaning pictures of them won't be taking, and the photographer doesn't have the ability to take the pictures.


I would use something like this in the case I would want someone to feature on my website; I would give them this form, and once they've filled it out, I have the full permission to publish that person on my website.
